JJ’s childhood home was in New Hampshire, among the rocky New England woods and falls spent bird hunting. Kristi’s childhood home was in New Jersey, a bustling town surrounded by farmland near the Delaware River. We grew up in similar backgrounds, church being a second home to us our whole lives. Jesus became real to us throughout our teenage years and we are continually learning what it means to follow and live like him. He is our true home no matter where we are.
We met each other in those college years when you’ve left home but not quite started out on your own yet. Our hearts immediately felt at home with each other, and we were married right after graduation in May of 2013.
Our first home together was a rented apartment in Kristi’s hometown, where we spent the first five years of our marriage. Throughout those years we continued to hone our vision for what we wanted our home to be—for ourselves, our family, and others. (And added our first child, who has made our home even more complete!)
At the beginning of the summer in 2018 we moved to southern Maine to make a new home for our family and help in a church plant in the Portland area. We’re excited to start fresh, to put those ideas and thoughts about home into practice in new ways as we put down roots here in Maine. And we are excited to welcome you in to be a part of it!
